The HUG Project - Chiang Mai, Thailand
Won’t you consider giving?
The partnership between Paint the Globe Foundation (PTGF) and the HUG Project Thailand is a crucial initiative
aimed at supporting child survivors of abuse and sex trafficking in Thailand. The prevalence of child exploitation in the country has left thousands of children traumatized and in desperate need of assistance.
The HUG Project Thailand provides a platform for community partners, including the police, schools, and international organizations, to prevent, protect, and restore children from sex trafficking. PTGF has partnered with the HUG Project Thailand to provide art therapy, yoga, meditation, and wellness practices to the children affiliated with their program.
Thanks to our donors, we have successfully accomplished our mission of delivering an abundance art and educational supplies.
We achieved our goal of conducting art therapy workshops where 18 children, ranging in age from 6-17 years old, created hand-crafted masks using paper plates, construction paper, scissors, and glue. The art supplies and workshops provided a much-needed avenue for healing and self-expression for these precious young survivors.
For the first time, PTGF introduced yoga and meditation as a practice within our projects.
Vicky Tay, Founder of Yours Truly, Holistic Health and Wellness, volunteered her services by teaching the children and staff yoga and meditation techniques. Her company is a lifestyle brand that empowers people through yoga, life coaching, meditation, and uplifting the human spirit. The kids absolutely loved the yoga and meditation sessions and were all very engaged. Furthermore, Vicky introduced these children to wellness practices that will help heal and cultivate peace and tranquility.
We also delivered a large supply of feminine hygiene products, including disposable pads, face creams, single-use wipes, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and more.
These supplies were distributed separately to the young women and girls affiliated with the HUG Project Thailand. The goal of this effort is to challenge period taboos by providing needed resources and empowering young women and girls globally.
Every child departed with their custom hand-crafted masks, a goodie bag full of art and educational materials, along with toys and candy.
Moreover, the kids were all introduced to valuable skills and wellness practices that they can use for a lifetime. This project brought smiles to the faces of these children, and we were able to help them experience fun and innocence. Thank you again to all of our donors for supporting our efforts to bring color and hope to the lives of these beautiful young souls.
