Thanks to the support of our donors and supporters, PTGF has successfully partnered with Flourishing Future Mongolia.
Flourishing Future is a nonprofit organization dedicated to combating poverty in Mongolia. Together, PTGF achieved a significant milestone as we celebrate our 5th anniversary. With our largest contribution to date, we donated valuable resources such as feminine hygiene products, bras, household cleaning supplies, and more, empowering over 65 under-resourced women. Also, we provided art and educational supplies to the staff and teachers of 72 orphaned children affected by broken families. Additionally, we organized art workshops for the children, providing them with educational enrichment and an outlet for artistic expression.
Mongolia faces persistent poverty issues, especially impacting underprivileged women and orphaned children.
The approximate population of Mongolia is 3.348 million. According to the World Bank, as of 2020, approximately 27.8% of the population lived in poverty, with higher levels of deprivation in rural areas.
Women, in particular, encounter significant challenges due to gender inequalities
…limited access to education and healthcare, and reduced employment opportunities. Menstruation presents a significant challenge in Mongolia, as individuals from low-income backgrounds face limited access to menstrual hygiene products and appropriate facilities. Cultural taboos and a lack of awareness further exacerbate this issue. Many girls and women in Mongolia struggle to afford or access sanitary products, leading to unhygienic practices, health risks, and disruptions in education and employment.
Various factors contribute to the plight of orphaned children in Mongolia
…resulting in a range of challenges they must overcome. These factors include poverty, migration, parental substance abuse, and social issues such as domestic violence and neglect. Economic hardships often lead to family separations, while others face the tragic loss of parents due to illness or accidents. Orphaned children experience significant obstacles, including limited access to basic needs, education, healthcare, and emotional support. The absence of stable family environments leaves them vulnerable to exploitation, abuse, and inadequate development.
In our latest collaboration, we provided an ample supply of feminine hygiene, sanitary, and household cleaning products to 65 at-risk women ranging from 18 to over 65 years old.
This initiative was essential, as many women lack access to suitable products and sanitation services.
By offering these much-needed items, we empower women, boost their confidence, minimize disruptions in their daily lives, and reduce physical and reproductive health risks.
Furthermore, PTGF furnished a year's worth of art and educational supplies and organized art workshops for 72 orphaned children.
These materials and activities enabled the children to express themselves, build confidence, and foster emotional and cognitive development.
Importantly, these projects introduced the children to various forms of self-expression, helping them explore their talents, find joy in their creativity, and heal from their trauma.
By accomplishing these objectives, our ultimate goal is to establish PTGF as a vital resource for at-risk children and women in Mongolia.
Through these collaborations, we empower and encourage vulnerable populations, providing the necessary support to overcome difficult circumstances.
