Dream Land: Nurturing Creativity for a Brighter Future

PTGF is proud to announce the establishment of "Dream Land Visionary Arts Center" in collaboration with the Inzozi Learning Center in Gashora, Rwanda.

This marks the successful creation of a dedicated space for nurturing the creative potential of children ages 2-6. Our joint effort reflects a shared commitment to providing a supportive environment for learning, empowerment, and artistic expression within the Gashora community. We are excited to witness the positive impact this center will have on the children and the community as a whole.

Situated south of Kigali, Gashora bears the scars of the war and genocide of 1994, with an estimated 800,000 lives lost.

The aftermath has left behind a community grappling with challenges, particularly affecting widows and orphans from diverse ethnic backgrounds. In alignment with the mission of the Inzozi Learning Center, our collaborative project seeks to address these challenges by fostering education, creativity, and lasting change for all residents.

The Inzozi Learning Center, committed to creating a supportive environment for free education, resources, and opportunities

has been a beacon of hope for the Gashora community. Offering free education, resources and opportunities for individuals of all ages, the center provides programs such as reading hours, homework assistance, science Saturdays, and adult literacy classes. Now, with Dream Land fully operational, the center can extend these services to young children who are often overlooked in traditional education settings.

Thanks to the support of our donors and supporters, PTGF successfully partnered with the Inzozi Learning Center to complete a multifaceted project.

We funded the construction of the Dream Land facility, generating employment opportunities for 15 local community members, including mural artists, electricians, carpenters, masons, and other skilled laborers.

We collaborated with the Inzozi Learning Center to design the exterior and interior of Dream Land, funding both the materials and labor of six talented Rwandan artists who expertly painted vibrant murals on the walls.

PTGF donated a year’s supply of art materials to kickstart the creative programs at Dream Land.

PTGF's generous donation of a year's supply of art materials has brought an abundance of color and creativity to the young minds at the Dream Land Arts Center. With enough supplies to last for a year, the imaginations of the center's 2 to 6-year-old children can flourish without constraint. From finger painting to sculpting with clay, these budding artists now have the resources they need to explore their creativity to the fullest. PTGF's contribution ensures that every stroke of the brush and every dab of paint is met with excitement and possibility, nurturing a love for art that will last a lifetime.

PTGF staff conducted training sessions for 20 members of the Inzozi Learning Center’s staff, emphasizing effective art education methods.

The benefits extend to the foundational understanding of colors, shapes, and sounds, fostering a comprehensive learning experience that includes the understanding of cause and effect. Through artistic engagement, children learn to articulate their feelings and thoughts, think critically about their world, and practice visual communication. Our mission is rooted in the belief that providing an outlet for creative expression to young Rwandan children is integral to their holistic development.

As we celebrate the completion of Dream Land, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who supported us on this transformative journey.

Your contributions have made a tangible difference in the lives of Gashora's children, laying the groundwork for a brighter future filled with creativity, resilience, and boundless opportunity. Together, let us continue to build a legacy of hope and empowerment that will inspire generations to come.
